The Northern Sierras are being pummeled with snow as we speak. Mammoth Mountain just called in a dump alert with 14 inches of new snow since this morning. The Mammoth Mountain alert issued just moments ago also stated they’re expecting another 2 – 4 feet of new snow in addition to the 14″ they currently have.

That’s right… it’s been snowing for 3 days. Kirkwood is boasting storm totals of 11 feet. The snow is supposed to continue on for the rest of the day… add a little bit more here and there for the next couple of days and then the possibility of another storm system. NICE!

At last winter is finally here with the biggest dump of the season. Most Northern California ski resorts are boasting results between 3 and 6 feet powder. Weather forecasters are calling for even more snow with a Winter Advisory in effect until 7pm Sunday.
