California Rivers Starting to Flow
When it’s snowing in the mountains, it usually means it’s raining in the foothills and lower elevations. Just popped onto DreamFlows for a few minutes to see if river conditions were starting to match the winter mountain conditions.
So far the Northern California Coast is perking up nicely. The North Fork of the Smith is pushing above 3000 cfs and while the Middle Fork is hanging around 1500cfs.
I would assume before long the West Slope of the Sierra will begin to flow if the rain continues to fall. The North Fork American is on the rise and the Yuba at Englebright is around 1100 cfs.
It’s time to break out those dry suits and extra layers of fleece… because winter boating is about to begin.
